Our biodegradable capsules perfectly preserve the Super-C serum oil and are ideal single-use, travel-friendly doses for a daily skin super-charge.
We believe that in the case of Vitamin C, little and often is better. Vitamin C is notoriously unstable and can easily become pro-oxidant if used at high levels, causing cellular damage. OSKIA’s superior form of stable Vitamin C and Smart Vitamin E work synergistically to provide enhanced results at safer, lower levels.

Encapsulated Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate - A superior, stable form of oil-soluble Vitamin C, deeply and quickly penetrates to a cellular level for bright, glowing, firmer and more even-looking skin. 2%.
Tocotrienols (Smart Vitamin E) are a much more powerful anti-oxidant form of Vitamin E and supported by Tomato Lycopene, protect the skin against free-radicals, environmental stressors and oxidative damage while also soothing and calming. Unlike traditoinal Tocopherols, Tocotrienols are also highly anti-inflammatory.
Squalane - A plant derived, saturated fat, restores the lipid barrier, balances the skin’s natural oils and improves hydration and smoothness. Saturated oils have single bonds within their fatty acid chains, which makes them more stable and resistant to free-radical attack.
ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE is a stabilized (heat and oxygen stable), non-acidic, oil soluble Vitamin C derivative of Ascorbic and Isopalmitic Acid. It effectively converts into the free Vitamin C in the skin. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is known for its superior percutaneous absorption due to being oil soluble. It’s an antioxidant with SOD (superoxide dismutase)-like activity, protects collagen from degradation, and also promotes its synthesis (anti-ageing).
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is approved as a quasi-drug active in Japan at 3%. It is also registered in Korea as a functional ingredient for skin lightening at 2% concentration.
Why Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate? What About Pure Ascorbic Acid?
The skincare benefits of Vitamin C are well-researched and well-known. But, there are a few problems with the use of pure Vitamin C aka Ascorbic Acid: Vitamin C is an unstable molecule, undergoes rapid oxidation, and almost half of it gets degraded within 30 minutes which is why earlier traditional formulas needed to have higher percentages. It can be stabilized to some degree by keeping it at low pH (below 3.5) and by adding other antioxidants to the formula (Vitamin E, Ferulic acid).
When taken orally or applied to the skin, most of the Vitamin C never makes it to the skin's cells. Also, it is difficult to deliver Ascorbic Acid into the dermis in the optimum dosage. Ascorbic Acid requires low pH (acidic) environment to be able to penetrate the skin, which can cause irritation such as peeling, stinging and excessive dryness.
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate - A More Potent and Stable Vitamin C Derivative
Due to Vitamin C's infamous instability, many derivatives have been produced. One such derivative is Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate. When compared to pure Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), this derivative is:
• More stable, both in solution and topical forms.
• Has three times better penetration than ascorbic acid.
• Is able to produce better results even when used in doses 25 times lower than ascorbic acid.
Skincare benefits
What benefits should you expect following the use of Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate?
It is a potent antioxidant and inhibits the peroxidation of lipids. When compared to simple Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate was able to exert free-radical scavenging effects for a longer duration (up to 40 hours). Ascorbic acid, on the other hand, caused maximum free radical elimination within 30 minutes and not after that.
- It has anti-ageing benefits by improving collagen production and decreasing collagen breakdown. In comparison to Ascorbic Acid, a provides a 50% increase in collagen synthesis.
- Protects the skin against UV (Ultraviolet) radiations. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate achieves an excellent penetration within the skin keratinocytes and helps them fight against the harmful effects of UV radiation. Cells treated with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate have a 30% better survival rate compared to pure vitamin C. p53 is a cellular protein that makes your body cells commit suicide (apoptosis). When treated with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, the UV-exposed cells have a less than 20% expression of p53 compared to control.
- Has major skin brightening properties by reducing melanogenesis by 80%, unlike other Vitamin C derivatives.
Tocotrienols
Why is Vitamin C & E often combined?
The combination of Vitamin C & E has been used primarily as the anti-oxidant activity of Vitamin E helps preserve the integrity and stability of notoriously unstable Vitamin C derivatives. Vitamin C is a very unstable molecule and undergoes rapid oxidation (almost half of it gets degraded within 30 minutes). It can be stabilised to some degree by keeping it at low pH (below 3.5) and by adding other antioxidants to the formula (Vitamin E & Ferulic acid are the most popular). Because we use a stable form of Vitamin C, our anti-oxidants within our formulas are able to protect skin cells rather than stabilise Vitamin C.
Why is Tocotrienols so superior to Tocopherol?
However, OSKIA’s new Super C Beauty Capsules uses a superior form of Vitamin C that is stable (helped by the single dose capsules which protect the Vitamin C further), therefore leaving other anti-oxidants in the formula to work on protecting the skin itself rather than stabilising the Vitamin C. In addition to this, we have chosen to work with a much more powerful, superior and more unusual form of Vitamin E - Tocotrienols. (There are eight types of Vitamin E - four types of Tocotrienols and four types of Tocopherols). If you imagine traditional Tocopherols to have two arms to capture rogue free-radicals, Tocotrienols have three - making them 40-60% more powerful an anti-oxidant than traditional Vitamin E and the most important lipid-soluble chain-breaking antioxidant for cell membranes. Tocotrienols, unlike Tocopherols, are also highly anti-inflammatory so ideal for many skin conditions and as well as aiding healing. The polyunsaturated side chain of tocotrienols also allows tocotrienols to penetrate more efficiently into cell membranes compared to tocopherols providing superior nourishment and efficacy.

A natural antioxidant derived from tomatoes, known for its anti-oxidant and sun protection, reducing signs of premature ageing. Contributes to a brighter and more even skin tone by reducing the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation. Lycopene has anti-inflammatory properties, which soothe irritated skin and reduce redness.
-
Vitamin C
A potent antioxidant & brightener with proven ability to stimulate collagen production. There are many forms of Vitamin C each with different properties. It is a potent antioxidant & brightener with proven ability to stimulate collagen production and in some cases reduce melanin production. The primary structure of collagen consists of three protein strands that wind together in a triple helix. The three amino acids in collagen are glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. Vitamin C is important in the structure of collagen because the amino acid hyroxyproline cannot be created without the oxygen from Vitamin C. Major Vitamin C deficiency results in scurvy where there is a lack of collagen in the body.
-
Ascorbic Acid
A potent antioxidant that helps brighten the complexion, fade dark spots and stimulate collagen production, promoting smoother, healthier skin. Its powerful protective properties also defend against environmental damage, making it a popular choice for achieving a youthful and radiant complexion. Very unstable form of Vitamin C.
